Test Kitchen: Things I would buy if I had unlimited spending
I have a wish list of $$$ items I will probably allow myself to buy once every five years. Here is my list and trust it's epic. These are all must-haves and investment pieces.
I have a hate-love relationship with consumerism, yet here I am promoting it. Also, I have expensive taste it seems because all the things I deeply want and love are far outside my spending limits but are so chic and beautiful. Worth the spending? I most definitely think so (just not this month for me but I’ll seek out this exact list holiday season or next birthday).
Here is my amazing list of fantastic things, that I think are totally worth every dollar but I still can’t pull the trigger.
The Dreamy Sweater:
Babaa came out with their new spring collection, and its perfect. Okay so the polo no1 sweater in natural may be totally sold out, but do not worry, literally every item from Babaa is incredible. Here are a select few from the site I have been eyeing.
I get not wanting to spend $280-$300 on a sweater, but if you are going to get a sweater and want one to last, I highly recommend Babaa. Everything they make is eco-friendly (including their dye), they use 60% less water, and it’s vegan. This classic Spanish sweater brand has it down and is the first item on my birthday/holiday list.
THE “I just want to run around in a field of flowers” set:
I just can’t image a list like this without something from Rudy Jude. She is the moment, she is springtime, she is I live bi-coast in Maine and California, she is I genuinely care about the environment and look chic doing it. AND I AM OBSESSED.
This is PRE-ORDER ONLY right now, so go make me jealous and get your orders in now because these are quite literally my dream pants. Not to mention, there is a matching ish top.
I had the absolute pleasure of visiting the store in Venice while I was in California and cannot even begin to tell you how incredible these fabrics feel. Please send me all the photos of you running through the fields of tulips in your brand new Rudy Jude pillowcase pants that I can only imagine are as soft as fresh cotton pillow case straight in from the wire out in the lawn.
Springtime Clogs:
Give me my moms old garden clogs but make them out of recycled materials. I present the world’s chicest ugliest clogs…
Do I have a garden? No. Do I have a trip to Seattle in June that these actually may be my next purchase? Yes.
Classic Mary Poppins Toilette Bag:
There is not a suitcase in the world that could easily fit this bag along with all the other things I would pack for a trip. Yes, I am aware I own plenty of toiletry bags and I never use half because they are so oddly shaped, I can’t even get them to fit in my bag. I know. But, this little never-ending Mary Poppins bag of makeup could hold any cluttered girl’s dream.
ETOILE: Vanity Case; $90
There are very few colors available still, but I love the burgundy moment. Keep it coming throughout the summer!
Turn Heads Fragrance:
Don’t make me choose! As a fragrance junkie, I can’t pick between all my favourite children for spring. But these two immediately came to mind. One new and one classic.
Give me paper, give me film strips out of OLD FRIEND photo booth, give me fresh clean laundry waiting for you on your bed while your linen curtains are dancing through the wind coming in from your windows.
BYREDO: Blanche EDP; $280
Want more floral? Want to smell like you literally just ran through a trail filled on each side with blooming lilacs? Want to feel romantic like the scene in Pride & Prejudice? (too cliche?) Okay, but this fragrance isn’t. Olivia Giacobetti gave us all of the above in her incredibly feminine and slightly sensual Editions de Parfum Frederic Malle fragrance En Passant.
I could write an entire book on which fragrances I think best fit for each scene of all my favourite films. But when I think spring, my mind is going straight to these.
Miscellaneous Household NEED:
Why do we never have picture frames anymore? What happened to printing photos? I miss it and honestly traditional square picture frames are out. But I LOVE these ones. Puddles? Okay cry me a puddle because these are too darling.
